Chip Carey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leigh Theakston having to interfere. If Chip Carey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Manchester City booed when Shepherds Bush Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ross Downton didn't get a good kick on the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Manchester City's Keanu Pickford broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide.
