Spectators: 6736 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mike Westwood kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, Ossett United's Peter Young got a free kick in the 21st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Theo Billington managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ossett United's supporters rose to their feet, but Theo Billington was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guy Howson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Theo Billington got free with Guy Howson in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Graeme Gallagher scored 0-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodd Rawlings, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Boyce in the 44th minute of play forced Burscough AFC's goalkeeper Guy Howson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Burscough AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brett Baird to make the kick off. Mike Westwood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guy Howson having to interfere. Andy Cummins kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guy Howson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 83rd minute, Mike Westwood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brett Baird recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Andy Cummins kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rodd Rawlings. That made the score 0-3 in the 89 minute of play. Rio Ashworth kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The Ossett United supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Burscough AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Burscough AFC.
