Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The audience was convinced that Stuart Bartlett's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alistair Griggs was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Olly Duffy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glyn Conway having to interfere. Olly Duffy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Glyn Conway tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alistair Griggs was a little too slow when Kasey Meadowcroft got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 18 played minutes Wombat Willies got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Stevens. Alistair Griggs made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Damon Hart sent off a good shot on target. Alistair Griggs made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damon Hart in the 20th minute. In the 26th minute, Eddie Norton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stuart Bartlett struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Alistair Griggs didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hawkstone United. In the 29th minute Eddie Norton suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christian Wilkes during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Christian Wilkes kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. After 33 minutes of play, Hawkstone United's Damon Hart made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alistair Griggs was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Wombat Willies booed when Hawkstone United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kasey Meadowcroft didn't get a good kick on the ball. Curtis Adcock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Wombat Willies's goalkeeper Alistair Griggs, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Damon Hart could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Alistair Griggs made a huge save. Alistair Griggs came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Hawkstone United's Damon Hart. But to his dismay, Damon Hart quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Curtis Adcock made the kick off in the second half. If Damon Hart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Wombat Willies getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Daryl Chegwyn hit a great ball. Damon Hart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alistair Griggs having to interfere. Daryl Chegwyn kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Wombat Willies's Daryl Chegwyn got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 63rd minute, Eddy Scriven hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Olly Duffy came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Wombat Willies fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olly Duffy couldn't finish the play. Daryl Chegwyn hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute Damon Hart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alistair Griggs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Curtis Adcock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 minutes, Daryl Chegwyn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wombat Willies and the Hawkstone United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Wombat Willies's Alistair Griggs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stuart Bartlett in the 91st minute of play. Olly Duffy was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 97th minute. Wombat Willies's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Wombat Willies's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
