The crowd rose to their feet as Chattenden Critters's Daniel King slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of William Kerfoot. That made the score 4-0 after 46 minutes of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

During the 94th minute of the match Ritchie Senior completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ritchie Senior a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Vance Knight had in the 96thth minute some difficulties stopping Shane Brownlow's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Shane Brownlow scored 7-1 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vance Knight, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Chattenden Critters had played much better football throughout.
