The audience thought a goal was coming when Bob Mason got free with Shane Litchfield in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 4th match minute, Seaham FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zack Spann to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 5 in the game by Bob Mason from a close distance when the talented Shane Litchfield managed to make a qualified save. Seaham FC's players were relieved. In the 7thth minute of the game Vic Edwards who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Seaham FC's Shane Litchfield was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zack Spann kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. A collision led to Achilles FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Damien Summers hit a great ball. Duncan Higgins was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 15th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 16 played minutes Seaham FC got a freekick which was hit by Zack Spann. With his leg Shane Litchfield managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Achilles FC's Bob Mason fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Achilles FC's Harvey Sheene played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christopher Douglas in the 19th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, Achilles FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pierce Brayson to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Vic Edwards took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Shane Litchfield to make any attempt to save it. Achilles FC's Vic Edwards got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bob Mason struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Shane Litchfield didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Achilles FC. The supporters of Achilles FC booed when Seaham FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philip Pope didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Bob Mason could shoot a difficult shot in the 39th minute, which Shane Litchfield however easily saved by the left post. Shane Litchfield didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 39th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. After having played for 43 minutes, Bob Mason managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Achilles FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bob Mason was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vic Edwards in the 48th minute of play forced Seaham FC's goalkeeper Shane Litchfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vic Edwards made a kick off. Bob Mason's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Shane Litchfield read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Achilles FC's Vic Edwards sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Shane Litchfield narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Shane Litchfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vic Edwards, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the game, Vic Edwards cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Shane Litchfield was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kurt Corbett's late challenge caught a Seaham FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kurt Corbett helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Achilles FC's Kurt Corbett got a free kick in the 67th minute. If Nial Wilmott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Seaham FC's Shane Litchfield played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damien Summers in the 74th minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Neil Darnbrooke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christopher Douglas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harvey Sheene having to interfere. Christopher Douglas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Harvey Sheene tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Achilles FC's Pierce Brayson got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zack Spann during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zack Spann hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. 93 minutes into the match, Achilles FC's Ross Hind broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Shane Litchfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bob Mason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Vic Edwards had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Achilles FC had played much better football throughout.
