In the 37th minute of the match Alastair Pascoe sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but William Spink skillfully saved the ball. Freddy Porter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. William Spink tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Damien Whitman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hojen Rovers's supporters rose to their feet, but Damien Whitman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. William Spink breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Syd Price recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Freddy Porter to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Hojen Rovers's Damien Whitman got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 53rdth minute of the game Syd Price who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hojen Rovers's Samuel Moyse was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Sutton Valence City's Syd Price in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hojen Rovers's goalie prevented a goal. If Freddy Porter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. After 82 played minutes Hojen Rovers got a freekick which was hit by Seth Duff. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hojen Rovers's goalkeeper Samuel Moyse, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Damien Whitman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Spink having to interfere. Paul Scorfield hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The Hojen Rovers supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hojen Rovers would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
