Eddie Henman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wes Bishop in the 7th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Wes Bishop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wes Bishop in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eddie Henman saved Jagiellonia from getting behind. In the 15th minute, Hugh Goodall got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 16th minute Wes Bishop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eddie Henman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jagiellonia's Eddie Henman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Jagiellonia from getting a goal against them. Wes Bishop blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eddie Henman having to make a save. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 34th minute, but Eddie Henman got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Jagiellonia hanging dry this time. Eddie Henman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wes Bishop, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Wes Bishop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steven Sharples blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eddie Henman having to make a save. Rio Howard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ted Lampard was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Radcliffe-on-Trent's zone, Ted Lampard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dylan Bonham came out of the goal and Ted Lampard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 55th minute, Wes Bishop got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eddie Henman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugh Goodall in the 58th minute of play. Eddie Henman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wes Bishop, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Wes Bishop received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Eddie Henman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Wes Bishop's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eddie Henman was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. 72 minutes into the match, Jagiellonia's goal looked a bit too open when Hugh Goodall came free, but Eddie Henman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dylan Bonham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Lampard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugh Goodall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Radcliffe-on-Trent's Wes Bishop got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 87 minutes, Hugh Goodall managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Radcliffe-on-Trent's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugh Goodall was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
