After having played for 3 minutes, Andrew McGovern managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Middleton AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrew McGovern was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Mitch FC's goal looked a bit too open when Matty Corrigan came free, but Joel Silk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Tristan Burbeary had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute, Nat Spink hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute Bart Philpott managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. 18 minutes into the match, Mitch FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andrew McGovern came free, but Joel Silk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andrew McGovern sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kris McGrath scored 1-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Verne Foley, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kris McGraths short, quick shot in the 34thth minute got Verne Foley to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Mitch FC's Brendon Preece got a free kick in the 37th minute. Mitch FC's Giles Tyler shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 41st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Verne Foley but with some difficulty. Tristan Burbeary recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The wind increased when Tristan Burbeary made the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Kris McGrath who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Middleton AFC's Verne Foley was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sidney Billington kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Middleton AFC's zone, Kris McGrath stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Verne Foley came out of the goal and Kris McGrath tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 56 played minutes Middleton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Tyler Keane. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tristan Burbeary in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Verne Foley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kris McGrath sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joel Silk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrew McGovern, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Tristan Burbeary sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Middleton AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mitch FC:s goal. 79 minutes into the match, Middleton AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Kris McGrath came free, but Verne Foley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Verne Foley didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Mitch FC's Tristan Burbeary shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Tristan Burbeary received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Verne Foley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kris McGrath fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Verne Foley having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tristan Burbeary in the 88th minute of play forced Middleton AFC's goalkeeper Verne Foley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Kris McGrath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute Andrew McGovern shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Silk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Mitch FC were the better team. Mitch FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
