Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Lee Seagrave started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Niall Marenghi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris McGrath in the 8th minute of play. If Lee Seagrave had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dale Fletcher walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 22nd match minute, Formby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Todd Croyden to maneuver through the defense. If Lee Seagrave had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Formby's Lee Seagrave slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joel Silk. That made the score 1-0 after 30 minutes of play. Niall Marenghi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris McGrath, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Reg Rocastle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 61st minute of the match Dale Fletcher sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joel Silk skillfully saved the ball. In the 66th minute, Lance Welch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 68th minute by Kris McGrath got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 79th minute, Lee Seagrave made a precise shot to the right of Joel Silk. Mitch FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Joel Silk came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Formby's Reg Rocastle. But to his dismay, Reg Rocastle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Niall Marenghi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tristan Burbeary in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Formby fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mitch FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
