When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Zackary Lamb sped through Huyton FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jamie Rhodes. Zackary Lamb took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jamie Rhodes. Jamie Rhodes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Thanks to some nice moves Patrick Brooks could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Bob Sawyer however easily saved by the left post. After 20 played minutes Brigade got a freekick which was hit by Ted Beecham. The audience was convinced that Zackary Lamb's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jamie Rhodes was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brigade's goalkeeper Bob Sawyer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bob Sawyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donald Hutchinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Brigade booed when Huyton FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rory Lane didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Brigade's Zackary Lamb sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jamie Rhodes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zackary Lamb stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jamie Rhodes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zackary Lamb, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. A hard shot 56 in the game by Ross William Russell from a close distance when the talented Jamie Rhodes managed to make a qualified save. Huyton FC's players were relieved. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Ross William Russell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Jamie Rhodes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Huyton FC's goalkeeper Jamie Rhodes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Huyton FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Brigade's performance. The match ended with a win for Brigade.
