The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zackary Lamb stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Middleton AFC's goalkeeper Verne Foley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Middleton AFC's Al Furniss got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Brigade's Zackary Lamb got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Matty Corrigan could shoot a difficult shot in the 67th minute, which Bob Sawyer however easily saved by the left post. In the 74th minute, Seth Oates hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, Ross William Russell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Verne Foley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zackary Lamb in the 80th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Ross William Russell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Verne Foley was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. After having played for 87 minutes, Ross William Russell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brigade's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ross William Russell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
