In the 21st minute Tristan Styles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Courtney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dale Foster's late challenge caught a FC Slovan Liberec's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dale Foster helped the player get up and apologised. After 22 played minutes Vitorino FC got a freekick which was hit by Dale Foster. If Des Thomson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damian Robinson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dale Foster in the 29th minute of the match. After 30 played minutes Vitorino FC got a freekick which was hit by Anthony Morley. Garth Courtney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tristan Styles in the 32nd minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Anthony Morley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vitorino FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Slovan Liberec the free kick. Anthony Morley hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC Slovan Liberec booed when Vitorino FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jasper Carragher didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tristan Styles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Des Thomson came free with the goalkeeper in the 53rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Garth Courtney could save by the left post. A collision led to FC Slovan Liberec getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Shane Sutcliffe hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Vitorino FC's Dale Foster in action when he in the 58th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Vitorino FC's Garth Courtney proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Vitorino FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Vitorino FC's zone, Tristan Styles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Garth Courtney came out of the goal and Tristan Styles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Garth Courtney made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Des Thomson sent off a good shot on target. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vitorino FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! The referee gave FC Slovan Liberec a penalty, 69 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tod Prutton, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vitorino FC's Garth Courtney. 0-4.
