Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sam Warner started the match with the kick off. Vernon Hall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sean Woodford in the 3rd minute of play. If Sean Woodford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vernon Hall stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruce Hampshire's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. Wes Cheswick hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Sam Warner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to London Greens getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Philip Coleman hit a great ball. Sam Warner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adam Byfield having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lovedean's zone, Bruce Hampshire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vernon Hall came out of the goal and Bruce Hampshire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the game, Sean Woodford was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. London Greens's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lovedean the free kick. The supporters of Lovedean booed when London Greens was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sean Woodford didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Ron Lilley's late challenge caught a London Greens's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ron Lilley helped the player get up and apologised. Bruce Hampshire might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vernon Hall. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bruce Hampshire ran back to his position shaking his head. Bruce Hampshire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bryan Bryden hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Adam Byfield came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Lovedean's Sam Warner. But to his dismay, Sam Warner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After 76 played minutes London Greens got a freekick which was hit by Carl Hind. Bryan Bryden took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Adam Byfield. London Greens's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Lovedean's Vernon Hall proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Lovedean from getting a goal against them. When Sam Warner came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Lovedean fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sam Warner couldn't finish the play. 89 minutes into the game, Philip Coleman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vernon Hall. Philip Coleman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Although Lovedean had been in control for most of the match, London Greens still came away with the win.
