The audience was convinced that Ed Osborn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gez Foggarty was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristopher Baird in the 17th minute of play forced Maylandsea's goalkeeper Leon Brook to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maylandsea's Ed Osborn got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Werrington getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Matthew Greaves hit a great ball. If Loyd Henry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kristopher Baird stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Werrington's Rio Ashford got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Werrington's Gez Foggarty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ed Osborn in the 54th minute of play. Nathanial Oliver's late challenge caught a Maylandsea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nathanial Oliver helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Maylandsea booed when Werrington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nathanial Oliver didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 62 played minutes Maylandsea got a freekick which was hit by Byron Hamilton. Leon Brook made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Steve Nightingale sent off a good shot on target. Ed Osborn took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gez Foggarty. Gez Foggarty dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Matthew Greaves got his second yellow card in the match during the 71st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Werrington getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Matthew Greaves hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the match, Stuart Davies had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gez Foggarty. Werrington's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stuart Davies was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After 77 played minutes Maylandsea got a freekick which was hit by Byron Hamilton. In the 78th minute of the match Nathanial Cartwright sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leon Brook skillfully saved the ball. Byron Hamilton hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 83 minutes into the match, Maylandsea's goalkeeper Leon Brook had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steve Nightingale. Kristopher Baird blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leon Brook having to make a save. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maylandsea's goalkeeper Leon Brook, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Steve Nightingale's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Leon Brook firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 92 minutes of play, Werrington's Nathanial Oliver made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leon Brook was left in no man's land by his defense there! Werrington's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
