Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when John Sawyer kicked off to start the match. Nat Edison missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 6 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Leon Brook right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ed Osborn in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oliver Gibbs saved Sudbury from getting behind. In the 13th minute, Byron Hamilton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 14th match minute, Sudbury was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Scott Slade to maneuver through the defense. Nat Edison recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Maylandsea's goal looked a bit too open when John Sawyer came free, but Leon Brook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nat Edison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leon Brook having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Scott Slade in the 32nd minute of play forced Maylandsea's goalkeeper Leon Brook to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Nat Edison cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Leon Brook was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Leon Brook showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nat Edison in the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ed Osborn stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. John Sawyer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leon Brook having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Nat Edison got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 60 minutes, John Sawyer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sudbury's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Sawyer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th minute, Ed Osborn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oliver Gibbs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stuart Davies in the 66th minute of play. After 67 played minutes Sudbury got a freekick which was hit by Scott Slade. Leon Brook took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Sawyer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ed Osborn in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oliver Gibbs saved Sudbury from getting behind. In the 79thth minute of the game Ed Osborn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sudbury's Oliver Gibbs was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maylandsea's Stuart Davies got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Scott Slade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Leon Brook tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Byron Hamilton came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Maylandsea fans jumped to their feet.
