After a rather tough play, Downham Market United's Brad Bzeu got a free kick in the 35th minute. Brad Bzeu kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Jez Glanvill might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mark Theakston. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jez Glanvill ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Downham Market United's goalkeeper Mark Theakston, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 44th minute of the match, Jez Glanvill got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mark Theakston was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Timothy Atkins was the one to do the kick off.
