Jez Glanvill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Gez Foggarty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Timothy Atkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Jez Glanvill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot by Nathanial Cartwright from long distance, 22 minutes into the match, got Vince Digby's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Jez Glanvill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Gez Foggarty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 31 played minutes Sutton in Ashfield AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ronan Bennett. Kristopher Baird struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Vince Digby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Werrington. Steve Nightingale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vince Digby read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timothy Atkins in the 39th minute of play forced Werrington's goalkeeper Gez Foggarty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Timothy Atkins ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gez Foggarty was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Kristopher Baird kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vince Digby. That made the score 1-3 in the 44 minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kristopher Baird to make the kick off. A nice corner shot did that Nathanial Cartwright got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vince Digby quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Timothy Atkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gez Foggarty having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, Jez Glanvill cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Gez Foggarty was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 65 minutes, Nathanial Oliver mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Werrington and the Sutton in Ashfield AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th minute, Sutton in Ashfield AFC's Timothy Atkins ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gez Foggarty. Gez Foggarty yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. Werrington's Gez Foggarty proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Werrington from getting a goal against them. Jez Glanvill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Max Ruddock placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! With a little luck, Werrington's Gez Foggarty got control of the ball when Jez Glanvill tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Werrington booed when Sutton in Ashfield AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tommy Doughty didn't get a good kick on the ball. Werrington's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nathanial Cartwright in the 86th minute. Werrington's Gez Foggarty proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Werrington from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Werrington's Nathanial Oliver got a free kick in the 94th minute. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Sutton in Ashfield AFC's Timothy Atkins in the 95th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Gez Foggarty was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Werrington through an amazing save. Jez Glanvill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jez Glanvill could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Gez Foggarty made a huge save. The Werrington fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sutton in Ashfield AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
