Spectators: 5850 (Terracing: 4400, Seating: 1400, VIP seats: 50) Leo Riad started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Johnathon Barat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 4th minute Jimmy Cooper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martyn Scargill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Fowler in the 10th minute of play forced London FC's goalkeeper Martyn Scargill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. John Fowler scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martyn Scargill, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danny Shackleton in the 17th minute of play forced London FC's goalkeeper Martyn Scargill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 21 minutes, Adam Hird mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the London FC and the St Ives AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rdth minute of the game John Fowler who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but London FC's Martyn Scargill was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, John Fowler managed to get in a good position for a shot. St Ives AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but John Fowler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martyn Scargill breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Jeff Ackroyd came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the St Ives AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeff Ackroyd couldn't finish the play. 31 minutes into the match, London FC's goal looked a bit too open when John Fowler came free, but Martyn Scargill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martyn Scargill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Fowler, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. St Ives AFC's John Fowler got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Jeff Ackroyd notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of London FC's Martyn Scargill. Martyn Scargill was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 40 played minutes London FC got a freekick which was hit by Ian Beech. Bobby Hudson's late challenge caught a St Ives AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bobby Hudson helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in London FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! 48 minutes into the match, St Ives AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Leo Riad came free, but Derek Holbrook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Martyn Scargill was a little too slow when John Fowler got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-4. 1-4 became the score in the 56th minute when Leo Riad elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. John Fowler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 61 minutes into the match, London FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jimmy Cooper came free, but Martyn Scargill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute John Fowler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martyn Scargill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Johnathon Barat in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martyn Scargill prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 66 played minutes St Ives AFC got a freekick which was hit by Johnathon Barat. In the 67th minute, Bobby Hudson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and St Ives AFC's Derek Holbrook didn't even have to move. 69 minutes into the match, St Ives AFC's John Fowler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martyn Scargill narrowly saved just below the crossbar. John Fowler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martyn Scargill having to interfere. When St Ives AFC's Johnathon Barat in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye London FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind London FC's goalkeeper Martyn Scargill, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leo Riad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derek Holbrook having to interfere. If Leo Riad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Fowler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The London FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. St Ives AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
