Spectators: 6733 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1733, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Colin Hough kicked off to start the match. In the 6th match minute, Chelsea FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylon Kitchen to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute, Frank Drury left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portreath fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Lee Le Tissier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Chelsea FC defense, Colin Hough kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jamal Edwards. The Chelsea FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jamal Edwards should have stopped the shot. After having played for 35 minutes, Colin Hough managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portreath's supporters crossed their fingers, but Colin Hough was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jamal Edwards showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Colin Hough in the 37th minute of the match. Frank Drury struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Jamal Edwards didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portreath. After 42 minutes of play, Portreath's Colin Hough made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jamal Edwards was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea FC's zone, Colin Hough stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jamal Edwards came out of the goal and Colin Hough tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lee Le Tissier to make the kick off. If Frank Drury had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54th minute, Colin Hough got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Portreath getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Liam Higgins hit a great ball. John Bush took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Buster Christie. Portreath's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jamal Edwards took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Colin Hough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jude Downes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jamal Edwards having to make a save. 67 minutes into the match, Chelsea FC's goalkeeper Jamal Edwards had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Drury. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Colin Hough in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jamal Edwards saved Chelsea FC from getting behind. In the 71st minute, one of Chelsea FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chelsea FC. Jerry Pope walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 76 minutes into the game, Jude Downes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Portreath's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chelsea FC the free kick. The supporters of Chelsea FC booed when Portreath was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jude Downes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colin Hough received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Jamal Edwards tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Thomas Noble fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portreath's protests and gave Thomas Noble a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th minute, Thomas Noble hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the match, Chelsea FC's John Bush broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a rather tough play, Portreath's Thomas Noble got a free kick in the 88th minute. Chelsea FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Colin Hough 93 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-4. After 96 played minutes Portreath got a freekick which was hit by Colin Hough. In the 98th minute, Colin Hough got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Portreath played a much better game than Chelsea FC and deserved their victory. The Chelsea FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
