Spectators: 7542 (Terracing: 5658, Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 150) 5 minutes into the match, SMB CITY's goal looked a bit too open when Colin Hough came free, but Tim Dryden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tim Dryden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Colin Hough, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Frank Drury had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind SMB CITY's goalkeeper Tim Dryden, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. SMB CITY's Tim Dryden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Colin Hough in the 24th minute of play. Tim Dryden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Colin Hough in the 26th minute of play. When Frank Drury came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Portreath fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Drury couldn't finish the play. SMB CITY's Tim Dryden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Colin Hough in the 32nd minute of play. If Frank Drury had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Drury hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Frank Drury recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Colin Hough made a kick off. Tim Dryden made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Drury in the 52nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rick Lundy during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Portreath's Colin Hough in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SMB CITY's goalie prevented a goal. Rick Lundy was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Portreath booed when SMB CITY was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rick Lundy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank Drury received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Tim Dryden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benjamin Bourton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Buster Christie having to make a save. If Frank Drury had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tim Dryden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Colin Hough in the 81st minute of play. After 82 minutes, Tony Woodward mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SMB CITY and the Portreath players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of SMB CITY:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Portreath:s goal. The referee gave Portreath a penalty, 83 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jerry Pope, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SMB CITY's Tim Dryden. 0-1. Colin Hough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Rick Moyse fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portreath's protests and gave Rick Moyse a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Portreath's Alan Ginn got a free kick in the 94th minute. After 97 played minutes Colin Hough rounded SMB CITY's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-2.
