Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Kirk Weedon kicked off to start the match. Shane Lloyd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kirk Weedon in the 7th minute of play. Old Excelsiors FC's Shane Lloyd proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Old Excelsiors FC from getting a goal against them. In the 12th minute, Kirk Weedon fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Shane Lloyd was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kirk Weedon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. After having played for 25 minutes, Tommy Wooding managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Storm FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tommy Wooding was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Old Excelsiors FC's zone, Kirk Weedon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shane Lloyd came out of the goal and Kirk Weedon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ozzy Whieldon's late challenge caught a Storm FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ozzy Whieldon helped the player get up and apologised. Ozzy Whieldon kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Rick Featherson was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 29th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Old Excelsiors FC's goalkeeper Shane Lloyd, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 35th match minute, Storm FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ashley Partridge to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the match, Old Excelsiors FC's goalkeeper Shane Lloyd had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tommy Wooding. Shane Lloyd was a little too slow when Kirk Weedon got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 39th minute. The score was now 2-0. Toby Woodhead fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jamie Gildea having to interfere. A collision led to Storm FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Glenn Turk hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Toby Woodhead made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Storm FC's goal looked a bit too open when Toby Woodhead came free, but Jamie Gildea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tommy Wooding sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Storm FC's Tommy Wooding got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Old Excelsiors FC defense, Kirk Weedon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Shane Lloyd. The Old Excelsiors FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Shane Lloyd should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kasey Davis got free with Jamie Gildea in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Storm FC booed when Old Excelsiors FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ozzy Whieldon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shane Lloyd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Wooding in the 81st minute of the match. Tommy Wooding received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Shane Lloyd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tommy Wooding in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Shane Lloyd prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Tommy Wooding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kirk Weedon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Lloyd having to interfere. If Tommy Wooding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
