Junior Bancroft hit a great ball. Louis Laverick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brendon Atherton, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After a rather tough play, Reem Team's Adam King got a free kick in the 12th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Reem Team's zone, Brendon Atherton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Louis Laverick came out of the goal and Brendon Atherton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ashley Hardcastle received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sean Corrigan came out and tried to block the shot, but Ashley Hardcastle slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 19th minute. Louis Laverick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benji Marchant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Charlie Gunn was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 26 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 26th minute of the game. One of Reem Team:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Salford City:s goal. After a rather tough play, Reem Team's Adam King got a free kick in the 36th minute. Louis Laverick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Calder, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Salford City's Adam Calder got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Brendon Atherton made a precise shot to the right of Louis Laverick. Reem Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Brendon Atherton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Louis Laverick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

After 56 played minutes Reem Team got a freekick which was hit by Graeme Aspinall. When Walter Simpson fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salford City's protests and gave Walter Simpson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Walter Simpson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd match minute, Reem Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam King to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Brendon Atherton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salford City's supporters rose to their feet, but Brendon Atherton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Louis Laverick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Reem Team's Marek Hawke got a free kick in the 67th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rich Godsall during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Benji Marchant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Louis Laverick having to interfere. The supporters of Salford City booed when Reem Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rich Godsall didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Reem Team's goal looked a bit too open when Sol Rowling came free, but Louis Laverick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute Andy Swanson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Corrigan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Reem Team's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Calder came free, but Louis Laverick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adam Calder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Louis Laverick having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Brendon Atherton's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Louis Laverick was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. A collision led to Salford City getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Olly Pope hit a great ball. Rich Godsall, 97 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Salford City played a much better game than Reem Team and deserved their victory. The Reem Team players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
