An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Calder in the 4th minute of play forced King Lion UXX F.C.'s goalkeeper Piers Penn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brendon Atherton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Piers Penn having to interfere. In the 9th minute Benjamin Sills shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Corrigan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 10 minutes, Brendon Atherton made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. King Lion UXX F.C.'s Piers Penn tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 14 minutes into the match, Salford City's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Sills came free, but Sean Corrigan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Junior Bancroft had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. King Lion UXX F.C.'s Piers Penn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Calder in the 21st minute of play. Adam Calder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 30 minutes into the match, King Lion UXX F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Brendon Atherton came free, but Piers Penn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Piers Penn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brendon Atherton went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Adam Calder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Piers Penn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Calder in the 40th minute of the match. Piers Penn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Junior Bancroft's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. 44 minutes into the game, Walter Simpson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salford City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave King Lion UXX F.C. the free kick. After 44 played minutes Salford City got a freekick which was hit by Walter Simpson. A hard shot by Roger Bennett from long distance, 45 minutes into the match, got Sean Corrigan's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benjamin Sills to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin Sills in the 54th minute of play forced Salford City's goalkeeper Sean Corrigan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute, Benji Marchant got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Walter Simpson was shown his second yellow card after 61 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Salford City's Walter Simpson got a free kick in the 62nd minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of Salford City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of King Lion UXX F.C.:s goal. In the 66th minute there was a penalty for King Lion UXX F.C.. Roger Bennett stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Sean Corrigan. 1-2. When Norman Nicholls came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the King Lion UXX F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norman Nicholls couldn't finish the play. After 85 minutes, Benji Marchant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salford City and the King Lion UXX F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of King Lion UXX F.C. booed when Salford City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benji Marchant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sean Corrigan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Sills, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 98th match minute, Salford City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Calder to maneuver through the defense. Salford City were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing King Lion UXX F.C. to leave the ground with a draw.
