After a defensive mix-up in Old Excelsiors FC's zone, Oscar Fish stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shane Lloyd came out of the goal and Oscar Fish tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 26th minute Oscar Fish shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Lloyd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Intersports fc's Mark Haseldine proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Intersports fc from getting a goal against them. 34 minutes into the match, Intersports fc's goalkeeper Mark Haseldine had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kasey Davis. Shane Lloyd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jon Hislop in the 43rd minute of play. Old Excelsiors FC's Shane Lloyd played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Fish in the 44th minute of play. Mark Haseldine didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Toby Woodhead went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 72 minutes into the match, Old Excelsiors FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oscar Fish came free, but Shane Lloyd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jon Hislop had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
