A collision led to Redbourn United getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Pat Elliot hit a great ball. Jordan Actons short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Zane Cookson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Les Newland in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zane Cookson saved Ashwell City from getting behind. Jordan Acton struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Zane Cookson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Redbourn United. In the 32nd minute, Stephen Gibbs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 34 minutes, Marty Titmus mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Redbourn United and the Ashwell City players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Redbourn United getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Marty Titmus hit a great ball. The supporters of Ashwell City booed when Redbourn United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orson Hilton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Curtis Braithwaite stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stephen Gibbs's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. After 44 played minutes Redbourn United got a freekick which was hit by Gregory Bradbury. The wind increased when Adrian Teague made the kick off in the second half. With his leg Curtis Braithwaite managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when Ashwell City's Stephen Gibbs fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ashwell City's Stephen Gibbs suffered a concussion after 54 minutes and had to leave the field. When Ed Brazier fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 72nd minute, Les Newland ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zane Cookson was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. If Les Newland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Ashwell City's Don Clough got a free kick in the 86th minute. 87 minutes into the game, Jordan Acton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Redbourn United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ashwell City the free kick.
