Robert Little sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 16 minutes into the match, Nuneaton Town's goal looked a bit too open when Damion Frain came free, but Reuben Fitzgerald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 28 played minutes, FreshFord FC's Harvey Wainwright shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reuben Fitzgerald came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FreshFord FC reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Danny Naisbitt during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rex Shilton shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. If Damion Frain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Nuneaton Town's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Little came free, but Reuben Fitzgerald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robert Little took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reuben Fitzgerald. Reuben Fitzgerald dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. FreshFord FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Don Bennett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reuben Fitzgerald breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lloyd Bass made a kick off. A collision led to FreshFord FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Jermaine Hamilton hit a great ball. Reuben Fitzgerald took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Little, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camron Ainsworth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lloyd Bass in the 60th minute of play. Camron Ainsworth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lloyd Bass, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. A collision led to FreshFord FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Jermaine Hamilton hit a great ball. FreshFord FC's Camron Ainsworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lloyd Bass in the 65th minute of play. The FreshFord FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FreshFord FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
