Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Calvin Lister took the kick off in the first half of the match. Terry Shipperley took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Barrie Cullen. Cheadle FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ashley Hickson in the 7th minute of play forced Darlington City's goalkeeper Dean Wroe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Ashley Hickson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Cheadle FC's Calvin Lister in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Darlington City's goalie prevented a goal. After 12 minutes of play, Darlington City's Louie Hicks made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Barrie Cullen was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Calvin Lister, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 20 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Dean Wroe was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 24th minute, Harvey Lewington got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Darlington City's Dean Wroe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ashley Hickson in the 28th minute of play. Barrie Cullen made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Louie Hicks sent off a good shot on target. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Darlington City's goalkeeper Dean Wroe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ashley Hickson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Darlington City's goal looked a bit too open when Calvin Lister came free, but Dean Wroe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Seth Pickering fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Darlington City's protests and gave Seth Pickering a yellow card for diving instead. Seth Pickering hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Harvey Lewington made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Darlington City were awarded a corner. Terry Crowther went to the cornerflag to take it. Darlington City's Terry Crowther was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Barrie Cullen in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laurence Hawkins during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Laurence Hawkins hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Barrie Cullen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harvey Lewington, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After 62 played minutes Darlington City got a freekick which was hit by Terry Crowther. Ashley Hickson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Seth Pickering was shown his second yellow card after 66 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Seth Pickering hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Dean Wroe made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Ashley Hickson sent off a good shot on target. In the 75thth minute of the game Calvin Lister who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Darlington City's Dean Wroe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cheadle FC's Zak Allott pulled a muscle in his leg after 77 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Spike Perryman's late challenge caught a Cheadle FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Spike Perryman helped the player get up and apologised. Spike Perryman kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Dean Wroe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ashley Hickson in the 81st minute. Dean Wroe made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Ashley Hickson sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Louie Hicks in the 89th minute of play forced Cheadle FC's goalkeeper Barrie Cullen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Ashley Hickson notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Darlington City's Dean Wroe. Dean Wroe was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the final whistle sounded Cheadle FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Darlington City.
