Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) New Team's Brendon Coleman started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Long Hanborough getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damon Chipperfield in the 5th minute of play forced New Team's goalkeeper Lewis Grantham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denny Bennet stood somewhat misplaced when Brendon Coleman came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 11 minute. In the 14th minute, Leo Welch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Long Hanborough's Denny Bennet got control of the ball when Brendon Coleman tried to sneak it across the goal line. New Team's Lewis Grantham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damon Chipperfield in the 18th minute of play. Denny Bennet was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Jeff Widdrington capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jeff Widdrington really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. 23 minutes into the game, Damon Chipperfield cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Lewis Grantham was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With his leg Denny Bennet managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when New Team's Brendon Coleman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Jeff Widdrington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Brendon Coleman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Denny Bennet. That made the score 3-1 in the 31 minute of play. If Jeff Widdrington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 42 in the game by Brendon Coleman from a close distance when the talented Denny Bennet managed to make a qualified save. Long Hanborough's players were relieved. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind New Team's goalkeeper Lewis Grantham, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damon Chipperfield in the 47th minute of play forced New Team's goalkeeper Lewis Grantham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Jonathon Cole made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Damon Chipperfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Long Hanborough's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damon Chipperfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 52nd minute, Brendon Coleman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. New Team's Reggie Marenghi got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Jeff Widdrington came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the New Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeff Widdrington couldn't finish the play. Brendon Coleman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Denny Bennet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damon Chipperfield could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Lewis Grantham made a huge save. Freddy Ashton kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Reggie Marenghi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brendon Coleman took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Denny Bennet. Denny Bennet dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. After a defensive mix-up in Long Hanborough's zone, Brendon Coleman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denny Bennet came out of the goal and Brendon Coleman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute, Jeff Walters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Damon Chipperfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Lewis Grantham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 93 minutes of play, New Team's Brendon Coleman made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denny Bennet was left in no man's land by his defense there! New Team walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
