Spectators: 7545 (Terracing: 5660, Seating: 1735, VIP seats: 150) Philip Ruddock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Deighton in the 6th minute of play. Richard Deighton took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Philip Ruddock. Philip Ruddock dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Stefan Atherton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Sammy Flack tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simon Martin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th minute Mike Wardill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philip Ruddock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 22 minutes Bulphan City's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Zaq Hellen who took care of the corner kick. After 24 played minutes Northallerton got a freekick which was hit by Phillip Howarth. In the 25th minute of the match Conal Griggs shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sammy Flack showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpected shot in the 28th minute by Simon Martin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Bulphan City's Simon Martin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sammy Flack. That made the score 1-1 after 30 minutes of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Simon Martin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bulphan City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simon Martin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Northallerton's Phillip Howarth got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 49th minute Bulphan City were awarded a corner. Conal Griggs went to the cornerflag to take it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mike Wardill made a kick off. After having played for 62 minutes, Mike Wardill managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Northallerton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mike Wardill was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stefan Atherton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sammy Flack having to make a save. After 72 minutes, John-Paul Bloom mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Northallerton and the Bulphan City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 72nd match minute, Northallerton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John-Paul Bloom to maneuver through the defense. When Simon Martin came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Bulphan City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simon Martin couldn't finish the play. Northallerton's Sammy Flack played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Atherton in the 79th minute of play. Richard Deighton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Philip Ruddock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Northallerton's Mike Wardill got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Richard Deighton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philip Ruddock having to interfere. After having played for 91 minutes, Richard Deighton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Northallerton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Deighton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mike Wardill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Philip Ruddock read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play.
