Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Andy Coulthard made the kick off which started today's match. In the 5th minute Clive Griggs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Harkness saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bryan Scholey kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Jonny Hartley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hardly Athletic's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonny Hartley was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Curtis Hassell breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 12th minute, Micheal Dawes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marc Harkness made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rich Hargreaves in the 17th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pat Sykes during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hardly Athletic's Pat Sykes got a free kick in the 19th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Ashley Dobson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Curtis Hassell. Liverpool's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ashley Dobson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronnie McRobbie in the 34th minute of play forced Liverpool's goalkeeper Curtis Hassell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruben Godsall hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Ronnie McRobbie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hardly Athletic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronnie McRobbie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonny Hartley in the 47th minute of play forced Liverpool's goalkeeper Curtis Hassell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonny Hartley was the one to do the kick off. Curtis Hassell made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Pat Sykes sent off a good shot on target. After 59 played minutes Ashley Dobson rounded Liverpool's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-3. 62 minutes into the match, Hardly Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when Rich Hargreaves came free, but Marc Harkness reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rich Hargreaves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute Rich Hargreaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Harkness saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rich Hargreaves in the 72nd minute of play forced Hardly Athletic's goalkeeper Marc Harkness to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vince Gough was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Hardly Athletic's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 78th minute Pat Sykes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Curtis Hassell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marc Harkness came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Liverpool's Rich Hargreaves. But to his dismay, Rich Hargreaves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3. When Clive Griggs came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Liverpool fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clive Griggs couldn't finish the play. Liverpool's Clive Griggs suffered a torn muscle in his knee after 86 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 86 minutes of play Hardly Athletic's Pat Sykes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Liverpool's Theo Caton was substituted for Clive Griggs. Marc Harkness made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theo Caton in the 90th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Theo Caton notched a goal, 6-3, to the right of Hardly Athletic's Marc Harkness. Marc Harkness was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Hardly Athletic booed when Liverpool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theo Caton didn't get a good kick on the ball.
