Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. FC SAMBA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tyrone Ellershaw was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mattias Hayes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shawn Bannister, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Lee Hassell charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lee Hassell the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC SAMBA booed when Tring was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lee Hassell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Neil Banks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kelvin Golding having to interfere. Kelvin Golding stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Neil Banks's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tyrone Ellershaw in the 22nd minute of play forced Tring's goalkeeper Mattias Hayes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Shawn Bannister shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Hayes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC SAMBA's Kelvin Golding played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Horn in the 26th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Neil Banks in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kelvin Golding prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kelvin Golding made an important save on a dangerous shot by Neil Banks in the 32nd minute. Neil Banks who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Kelvin Golding when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Victor Horn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Neil Banks was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the FC SAMBA defense, Don Brimble kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kelvin Golding. The FC SAMBA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kelvin Golding should have stopped the shot. Neil Banks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kelvin Golding stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Neil Banks's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Victor Horn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Kelvin Golding tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Neil Banks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 72 minutes FC SAMBA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Neil Banks who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Neil Banks got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kelvin Golding quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Neil Banks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neil Banks scored 3-1 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kelvin Golding, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tyrone Ellershaw could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Mattias Hayes made a huge save. With a little luck, Tring's Mattias Hayes got control of the ball when Tyrone Ellershaw tried to sneak it across the goal line. Victor Horn's late challenge caught a FC SAMBA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victor Horn helped the player get up and apologised. After 92 played minutes Tring got a freekick which was hit by Victor Horn. Tring walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
