Spectators: 5150 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 150) Football Club Azkero's Ed Rawson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Patrick Clarkson struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Sol Bellamy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wem AFC. 7 minutes into the game, Mattias Dalby was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Football Club Azkero's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wem AFC the free kick. A collision led to Football Club Azkero getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Mattias Dalby hit a great ball. Vernon Barltrops short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Sol Bellamy to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience was convinced that Ed Rawson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simon Odell was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Vernon Barltrop recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Patrick Clarkson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sol Bellamy having to interfere. After having played for 30 minutes, Vernon Barltrop managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wem AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vernon Barltrop was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Simon Odell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sammy Lomas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Simon Odell came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Football Club Azkero's Vance Hancock. But to his dismay, Vance Hancock quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vernon Barltrop to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Wem AFC's Laurence McAleer got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After some careless play in the Wem AFC defense, Sammy Lomas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Simon Odell. The Wem AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simon Odell should have stopped the shot. Sol Bellamy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vernon Barltrop in the 60th minute of play. Sol Bellamy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Clarkson in the 66th minute of play. Sammy Lomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 71 minutes, Brad Sanderson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Football Club Azkero's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brad Sanderson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sammy Lomas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Football Club Azkero's Vance Hancock suffered a sore foot after 76 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Des Harrington charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Des Harrington the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 77th minute, Des Harrington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpected shot in the 81st minute by Ed Rawson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Sol Bellamy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vernon Barltrop in the 88th minute of the match. Ed Rawson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
