Sammy Lomas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Kelvin Golding made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Football Club Azkero's Ed Rawson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kelvin Golding. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. Shawn Bannister struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Sol Bellamy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC SAMBA. After a rather tough play, Football Club Azkero's Sammy Lomas got a free kick in the 16th minute. Kelvin Golding made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ed Rawson in the 24th minute of play. Vance Hancock struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Kelvin Golding didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Football Club Azkero. Kelvin Golding made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sammy Lomas in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the game, Vance Hancock was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Football Club Azkero's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC SAMBA the free kick. A collision led to Football Club Azkero getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Vance Hancock hit a great ball. FC SAMBA's Shawn Bannister got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Sammy Lomas notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of FC SAMBA's Kelvin Golding. Kelvin Golding was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to FC SAMBA getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Jamal Foley hit a great ball. If Sammy Lomas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Football Club Azkero's goalkeeper Sol Bellamy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Shawn Bannister received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Sol Bellamy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Shawn Bannister stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ed Rawson in the 51st minute of play forced FC SAMBA's goalkeeper Kelvin Golding to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC SAMBA's zone, Sammy Lomas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kelvin Golding came out of the goal and Sammy Lomas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ed Rawson came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Football Club Azkero fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ed Rawson couldn't finish the play. Kelvin Golding took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sammy Lomas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Ed Rawson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kelvin Golding was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. If Ed Rawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tyrone Ellershaw who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 74thth minute tested the skills of Sol Bellamy when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sammy Lomas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Football Club Azkero's Sammy Lomas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kelvin Golding narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Football Club Azkero's Sol Bellamy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shawn Bannister in the 83rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Football Club Azkero's zone, Tyrone Ellershaw stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sol Bellamy came out of the goal and Tyrone Ellershaw tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Football Club Azkero's Ed Rawson got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
