The audience thought a goal was coming when Iain Bambrook got free with Sol Bellamy in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Howard Billington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sol Bellamy having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Football Club Azkero's goal looked a bit too open when Howard Billington came free, but Sol Bellamy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roger Gold during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Score Strikers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Football Club Azkero the free kick. The referee gave Roger Gold a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Sammy Lomas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Football Club Azkero's supporters rose to their feet, but Sammy Lomas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Bishop breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iain Bambrook fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sol Bellamy having to interfere. Blair Pritchard might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sol Bellamy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Blair Pritchard ran back to his position shaking his head. When Iain Bambrook came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Score Strikers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iain Bambrook couldn't finish the play. If Ty Millman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sol Bellamy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iain Bambrook in the 70th minute of play. After having played for 71 minutes, Ty Millman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Score Strikers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ty Millman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ed Rawson fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Football Club Azkero's protests and gave Ed Rawson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute, Ed Rawson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iain Bambrook took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sol Bellamy. Sol Bellamy dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 83 minutes into the game, Iain Bambrook cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Sol Bellamy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Iain Bambrook received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Sol Bellamy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ty Millman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute.
