Marek Daly yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, Kettering Town FC's Ivan Bartrup sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marek Daly narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kasey Carroll in the 14th minute of play forced liam fc's goalkeeper Marek Daly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Kettering Town FC's Ivan Bartrup sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marek Daly narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hugh Waterhouse took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marek Daly. liam fc's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ivan Bartrup fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marek Daly having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Kasey Carroll shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marek Daly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kettering Town FC's Noel Hopton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fraser Whitford in the 45th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kasey Carroll was the one to do the kick off. During the 52nd minute of the match Neil Blueman completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Neil Blueman a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 52nd match minute, Kettering Town FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neil Blueman to maneuver through the defense. 54 minutes into the match, Timothy Maxell dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Noel Hopton, 2-1. Marek Daly showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Bartrup in the 65th minute of the match. Noel Hopton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stan Poate in the 66th minute of play. Kasey Carroll fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marek Daly having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, liam fc's goal looked a bit too open when Kasey Carroll came free, but Marek Daly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marek Daly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kasey Carroll, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. liam fc's Marek Daly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kasey Carroll in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Kasey Carroll notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of liam fc's Marek Daly. Marek Daly was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Stan Poate sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivan Bartrup hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Ivor Ellershaw received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Noel Hopton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Kasey Carroll managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kettering Town FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kasey Carroll was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marek Daly breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Kettering Town FC had won after a very even match.
