Streatham Starlights's Miles Fowler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marty Goodwick in the 6th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Beeston's goal looked a bit too open when Junior Brennan came free, but Denny Nowland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Beeston's goal looked a bit too open when Ricky Button came free, but Denny Nowland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute Ricky Button shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denny Nowland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Ricky Button got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 24 minutes, Verne Broadbent made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Beeston's Denny Nowland tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Verne Broadbent had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Verne Broadbent in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Denny Nowland prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 28 minutes, Jake Speed mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Beeston and the Streatham Starlights players grew even worse after the yellow card. Denny Nowland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Junior Brennan, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. During the 34th minute of the match Jake Speed completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jake Speed a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Beeston getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Jake Speed hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Verne Broadbent in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denny Nowland saved Beeston from getting behind. If Junior Brennan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Beeston's zone, Junior Brennan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denny Nowland came out of the goal and Junior Brennan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marty Goodwick hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Tod Teague charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tod Teague the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 48th match minute, Beeston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tod Teague to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Junior Brennan was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Streatham Starlights booed when Beeston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marty Goodwick didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Ricky Button notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Beeston's Denny Nowland. Denny Nowland was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Streatham Starlights getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Craig Fleming hit a great ball. In the 58th minute of the match Chesney Eadan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Miles Fowler skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Beeston booed when Streatham Starlights was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristopher Haugue didn't get a good kick on the ball. Verne Broadbent's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denny Nowland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Tod Teague sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Streatham Starlights's Mike Langford got a free kick in the 67th minute. Denny Nowland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Verne Broadbent in the 70th minute of play. Trey Martin charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Trey Martin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tod Teague in the 74th minute of play forced Streatham Starlights's goalkeeper Miles Fowler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ricky Button took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Denny Nowland. Denny Nowland dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After 87 played minutes, Beeston's Kris Elvins shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Miles Fowler came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Beeston reached it. The crowd rose to their feet as Streatham Starlights's Ricky Button slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Denny Nowland. That made the score 0-4 after 88 minutes of play. The supporters of Streatham Starlights booed when Beeston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kris Elvins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Streatham Starlights's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
