Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jo Marlow made the kick off which started today's match. 3 minutes into the match, Perivale AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jo Marlow came free, but Rex Moorhouse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stewart Stayton struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Alastair Welch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perivale AFC. 7 minutes into the match, Grouchos Grasshoppers's goalkeeper Alastair Welch had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stewart Stayton. With a little luck, Grouchos Grasshoppers's Alastair Welch got control of the ball when Stewart Stayton tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rex Moorhouse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wally Wilson, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Trey Lambert hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. When Kelvin Dolby came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Perivale AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kelvin Dolby couldn't finish the play. If Stewart Stayton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute, George Groom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cliff Mann took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alastair Welch. Grouchos Grasshoppers's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Stewart Stayton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alastair Welch having to interfere. 31 minutes into the game, Stewart Stayton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Perivale AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grouchos Grasshoppers the free kick. Stewart Stayton hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. An unexpected shot in the 34th minute by Stewart Stayton got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Grouchos Grasshoppers's Alastair Welch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trey Lambert in the 35th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Grouchos Grasshoppers's zone, Stewart Stayton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alastair Welch came out of the goal and Stewart Stayton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Trey Lambert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Alastair Welch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stewart Stayton to make the kick off. Alastair Welch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stewart Stayton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Stewart Stayton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Grouchos Grasshoppers's goal looked a bit too open when Hugh Cambridge came free, but Alastair Welch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stewart Stayton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Stewart Stayton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alastair Welch having to interfere. Kelvin Dolby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alastair Welch having to interfere. Alastair Welch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stewart Stayton, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Kelvin Dolby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alastair Welch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stewart Stayton in the 71st minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Kelvin Dolby got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stewart Stayton struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Alastair Welch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perivale AFC. With a little luck, Perivale AFC's Rex Moorhouse got control of the ball when Gordon Plant tried to sneak it across the goal line. Perivale AFC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
