Jez Selby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kelvin Dolby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cliff Mann hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Ivan Hay's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rex Moorhouse firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 22 minutes, Hugh Cambridge mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Perivale AFC and the Prestwich FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Perivale AFC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Hugh Cambridge hit a great ball. Rex Moorhouse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlton Alsford, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Prestwich FC's zone, Kelvin Dolby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jez Selby came out of the goal and Kelvin Dolby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Prestwich FC defense, Stewart Stayton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jez Selby. The Prestwich FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jez Selby should have stopped the shot. Hugh Cambridge kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Anthony Darling hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Perivale AFC's zone, Carlton Alsford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rex Moorhouse came out of the goal and Carlton Alsford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jez Selby took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stewart Stayton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Hay scored 1-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rex Moorhouse, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Prestwich FC's Adrian Jepson got a free kick in the 46th minute. In the 47th minute, Ivan Hay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlton Alsford to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Perivale AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlton Alsford came free, but Rex Moorhouse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th match minute, Prestwich FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Hay to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cliff Mann during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 60 minutes into the game, one of Perivale AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Rex Moorhouse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Stewart Stayton might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jez Selby. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stewart Stayton ran back to his position shaking his head. Stewart Stayton who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 79thth minute tested the skills of Jez Selby when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 80 played minutes Prestwich FC got a freekick which was hit by Rob Woolford. In the 83rd minute, Rob Woolford ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rex Moorhouse was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Stewart Staytons short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Jez Selby to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rex Moorhouse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfie Norman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 97th minute, Carlton Alsford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Perivale AFC's Stewart Stayton got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Prestwich FC had won after a very even match.
