Manchester United's Marty Wild played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sammy Bowland in the 3rd minute of play. When Dion Gregory came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the CHELSEA UNITED fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dion Gregory couldn't finish the play. Marty Wild showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sammy Bowland in the 12th minute of the match. Dion Gregory could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Marty Wild made a huge save. John Paul Yeo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Ethan Broadbent tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Quentin Millman struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Ethan Broadbent didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United. After having played for 24 minutes, Dion Gregory managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CHELSEA UNITED's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dion Gregory was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dion Gregory fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marty Wild having to interfere. Sammy Bowland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Marty Wild tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronnie Odell in the 29th minute of play forced CHELSEA UNITED's goalkeeper Ethan Broadbent to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind CHELSEA UNITED's goalkeeper Ethan Broadbent, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marty Wild showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sammy Bowland, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Quentin Millman took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ethan Broadbent. Ethan Broadbent dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in CHELSEA UNITED's zone, Quentin Millman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ethan Broadbent came out of the goal and Quentin Millman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 47 played minutes CHELSEA UNITED got a freekick which was hit by Malcolm Gavan. Colin Durrant struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Ethan Broadbent didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United. After the first half Manchester United were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sammy Bowland stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marty Wild showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dion Gregory, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 1-1 became the score in the 60th minute when Sammy Bowland elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 63rd minute, Gaz Francis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marty Wild was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 70th match minute, CHELSEA UNITED was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaz Francis to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quentin Millman got free with Ethan Broadbent in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United's zone, Sammy Bowland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marty Wild came out of the goal and Sammy Bowland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute of the match Noel Bannatyne shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marty Wild showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Gordon Trueman was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 91st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in CHELSEA UNITED's zone, John Paul Yeo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ethan Broadbent came out of the goal and John Paul Yeo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 98th minute Ronnie Odell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ethan Broadbent saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CHELSEA UNITED were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Manchester United for a fine match.
