Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Minehead United's Allan Stevens started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Donny Wardman took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marty Wild. Marty Wild dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Quentin Millman came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Manchester United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Quentin Millman couldn't finish the play. In the 12thth minute of the game Ronnie Odell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Minehead United's Ivan Longstaff was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Manchester United's Marty Wild proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Manchester United from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United's zone, Donny Wardman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marty Wild came out of the goal and Donny Wardman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Minehead United getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Pedro Crossley hit a great ball. If Quentin Millman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th minute Ronnie Odell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Longstaff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Donny Wardman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marty Wild. Manchester United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donny Wardman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 35th minute, Allan Stevens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 37 minutes, Donny Wardman made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Manchester United's Marty Wild tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Marty Wild made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Donny Wardman sent off a good shot on target. Allan Stevens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Robert Sutcliffe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ronnie Odell made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Allan Stevens ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marty Wild was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Marty Wild showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Stevens, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Manchester United's goalkeeper Marty Wild, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 77th minute Donny Wardman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marty Wild saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Minehead United's attack was well implemented in the 78th minute, but when Allan Stevens was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. In the 80th match minute, Manchester United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Paul Yeo to maneuver through the defense. Marty Wild showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Stevens in the 83rd minute of the match. Robert Sutcliffe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Marty Wild tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Donny Wardman came free, but Marty Wild reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Allan Stevens left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Minehead United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. The supporters of Manchester United booed when Minehead United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan Stevens didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Minehead United had played much better football throughout.
