Spectators: 7608 (Terracing: 5707, Seating: 1750, VIP seats: 151) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Casey Metcalf started the match with the kick off. The long shot by Jude McNiven in the 3rd minute really tested Wesley Brookman's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 5thth minute of the game Ash Holroyd who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Derry Hill's Vinnie Mann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 6 played minutes India FC got a freekick which was hit by Kristian Longthorn. In the 16th minute Austen Carragher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinnie Mann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Derry Hill's goal looked a bit too open when Austen Carragher came free, but Vinnie Mann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Ash Holroyd got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Ash Holroyd came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the India FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ash Holroyd couldn't finish the play. Wesley Brookman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Howard Knowles in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Derry Hill's Casey Metcalf fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Howard Knowles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wesley Brookman having to interfere. Derry Hill's Vinnie Mann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ash Holroyd in the 37th minute of play. Vinnie Mann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Austen Carragher, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute, Ash Holroyd left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The India FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Austen Carragher made a kick off. The supporters of India FC booed when Derry Hill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gavin Bird didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vinnie Mann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ash Holroyd in the 52nd minute. If Ash Holroyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marek Clay hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Danny Schofield kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Ash Holroyd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinnie Mann having to interfere. Vinnie Mann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Austen Carragher in the 66th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Derry Hill's zone, Ash Holroyd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vinnie Mann came out of the goal and Ash Holroyd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Austen Carragher in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vinnie Mann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Derry Hill's Howard Knowles got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ash Holroyd's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vinnie Mann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Derry Hill's goalkeeper Vinnie Mann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ash Holroyd. In the 82nd minute, India FC's Austen Carragher ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vinnie Mann. Vinnie Mann yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. 90 minutes into the game, Derry Hill's Casey Metcalf nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wesley Brookman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2.
