The referee gave Thamesmead a penalty, 36 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Timothy Cutts, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Penistone City's Dion Hayes. 0-3. In the 39th minute, Bill Eubank left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Thamesmead fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Alastair Acton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jay Britton in the 43rd minute. Zane Rowling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Zaq Stone made the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes Penistone City's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Timothy Cutts who took care of the corner kick. Damion Ryder was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Alastair Acton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jay Britton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the game, Eddie Morrell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thamesmead's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Penistone City the free kick. Bill Eubank received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Dion Hayes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zane Rowling could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Dion Hayes made a huge save. If Zane Rowling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Thamesmead's Zane Rowling sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dion Hayes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Bill Eubank took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Dion Hayes to make any attempt to save it.
