After having played for 11 minutes, Casey Metcalf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derry Hill's supporters crossed their fingers, but Casey Metcalf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vinnie Mann made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Ash Holroyd sent off a good shot on target. Wesley Brookman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Casey Metcalf in the 18th minute of the match. Wesley Brookman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Howard Knowles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kristian Longthorn hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. If Ash Holroyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Derry Hill's Geoff Ellerton got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Johnnie Trotter sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Derry Hill's Vinnie Mann didn't even have to move. Danny Schofield's late challenge caught a India FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danny Schofield helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Derry Hill getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Danny Schofield hit a great ball. Austen Carragher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vinnie Mann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Austen Carragher in the 37th minute of play. After having played for 41 minutes, Ash Holroyd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. India FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ash Holroyd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ash Holroyd's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vinnie Mann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Ash Holroyd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinnie Mann having to interfere.

Danny Schofield hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timothy Milton during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 63 played minutes India FC got a freekick which was hit by Timothy Milton. In the 66th minute Ash Holroyd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinnie Mann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 78th match minute, India FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristian Longthorn to maneuver through the defense. Casey Metcalf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Derry Hill's Vinnie Mann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ash Holroyd in the 90th minute of play. Timothy Milton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Vinnie Mann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Timothy Milton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The India FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Derry Hill had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
