In the 9th minute, Tyler Osbon made a precise shot to the right of Rod Auty. Lionbow FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tyler Osbon in the 12th minute of play forced Lionbow FC's goalkeeper Rod Auty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Thame! Lionbow FC's Rod Auty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stuart Gurney in the 21st minute of play. Jacob Hughes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aaron Frain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rod Auty didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Stuart Gurney went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Lionbow FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tyler Osbon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Rod Auty took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tyler Osbon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Damien Shakespeare hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lionbow FC's Rod Auty played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stuart Gurney in the 45th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

Ron Fitzgerald was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 54 minutes into the match. A collision led to Lionbow FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Ron Fitzgerald hit a great ball. Rod Auty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tyler Osbon, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute of the match, Stuart Gurney got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rod Auty was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Lionbow FC's Rod Auty proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Lionbow FC from getting a goal against them. Aaron Frain's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacob Hughes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Lionbow FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tyler Osbon came free, but Rod Auty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Stuart Gurney had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rod Auty. Lionbow FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stuart Gurney was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. During the 77th minute of the match Damien Shakespeare completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Damien Shakespeare a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 78th match minute, Thame was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damien Shakespeare to maneuver through the defense. Lawrence Rayner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stuart Gurney could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Rod Auty made a huge save. Gez Rains short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Rod Auty to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thame were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Lionbow FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sol Flemming took the corner. After taking down the ball on Thame's corner Sol Flemming fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rod Auty quite easily take care of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stuart Gurney got free with Rod Auty in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Thame had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
