The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Nathanial Harrison got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute, Nathanial Harrison ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Den Kaye was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After 10 minutes, Rory Flower mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shaftesbury and the Helsby players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rory Flower hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute, Nathanial Harrison got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Nathanial Harrison's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Den Kaye was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Den Kaye took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nathanial Harrison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nathanial Harrison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bob Steele sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute, Bob Steele got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Den Kaye made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Bob Steele sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Nathanial Harrison managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shaftesbury's supporters rose to their feet, but Nathanial Harrison was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Den Kaye breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Ian Cryer fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Helsby's protests and gave Ian Cryer a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Helsby's Ian Cryer got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute, Bob Steele ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Den Kaye was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 37 played minutes Helsby got a freekick which was hit by Scott Wootton. Den Kaye was a little too slow when Nathanial Harrison got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gez Davis in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jon Gardner saved Shaftesbury from getting behind. Helsby's Den Kaye played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathanial Harrison in the 44th minute of play. Jon Gardner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gez Davis in the 48th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gez Davis made a kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Bob Steele who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Helsby's Den Kaye was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Nathanial Harrison's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Den Kaye was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Helsby's zone, Nathanial Harrison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Den Kaye came out of the goal and Nathanial Harrison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nathanial Harrison in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Den Kaye saved Helsby from getting behind. Gez Davis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jake Phelps hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Nathanial Harrison managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shaftesbury's supporters rose to their feet, but Nathanial Harrison was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Den Kaye breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute, Nathanial Harrison left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Shaftesbury fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. After 89 minutes of play, Shaftesbury's Nathanial Harrison made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Den Kaye was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Bob Steele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Helsby's goalkeeper Den Kaye, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 96 minutes, Bob Steele managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shaftesbury's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bob Steele was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
