Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jake French got the match started through his kick off. Chesney Chapman was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 9th play minute Bob Steele came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Shawn McGurk. 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clive Braithwaite during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Paignton FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Clive Braithwaite hit a great ball. Shawn McGurk stood somewhat misplaced when Nathanial Harrison came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 14 minute. Paignton FC's Shawn McGurk proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Paignton FC from getting a goal against them. 20 minutes into the match, Paignton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nathanial Harrison came free, but Shawn McGurk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bob Steele had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Paignton FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Nathanial Harrison scored to the left of an out of position Shawn McGurk, making the score, 3-0. Shaftesbury's Jon Gardner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ross Hart in the 27th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Shaftesbury got a freekick which was hit by Rory Flower. 30 minutes into the match, Paignton FC's Chesney Chapman broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of Paignton FC booed when Shaftesbury was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jake Phelps didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Paignton FC defense, Bob Steele kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Shawn McGurk. The Paignton FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Shawn McGurk should have stopped the shot. Jon Gardner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ross Hart in the 42nd minute of play. Jon Gardner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jake French, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nathanial Harrison to make the kick off. Ross Hart could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Jon Gardner made a huge save. Jon Gardner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jake French's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. If Ross Hart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jake French sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dave Reid hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After 77 minutes of play, Shaftesbury's Nathanial Harrison made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shawn McGurk was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Shaftesbury getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Jake Phelps hit a great ball. In the 91st minute, Ross Hart fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jon Gardner, passed just outside the right post. Jake French sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
