The referee ignored Sadbury FC's protests and gave David Wakefield a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Sadbury FC's David Wakefield got a free kick in the 9th minute. Sidney Slator took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Fenton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vince Warrender showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Wakefield in the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute of the match Sadbury FC got a corner. Real Madrid C.F's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Larry Hilton ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sidney Slator was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Henry Fenton capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Henry Fenton really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Henry Fenton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Henry Fenton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sidney Slator having to make a save. With a little luck, Sadbury FC's Sidney Slator got control of the ball when Henry Fenton tried to sneak it across the goal line. David Wakefield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Vince Warrender tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vince Warrender made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teddy Purvis in the 35th minute of play. After having played for 37 minutes, David Wakefield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sadbury FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Wakefield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, David Wakefield had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vince Warrender. Real Madrid C.F's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Wakefield was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henry Fenton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. David Wakefield got his second yellow card in the match during the 52nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Sadbury FC's David Wakefield got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Sidney Slator showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathan Rain, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. If Ryan Sharpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nathan Nelson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Sidney Slator tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the game, Dave Tomkins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sadbury FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Madrid C.F the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sadbury FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 66th minute. Penalty! Nathan Rain placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Henry Fenton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sidney Slator made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Fenton in the 75th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Real Madrid C.F's Nathan Nelson got a free kick in the 80th minute. Tris Clough recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teddy Purvis might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vince Warrender. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Teddy Purvis ran back to his position shaking his head. If Henry Fenton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Teddy Purvis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vince Warrender. Real Madrid C.F's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Teddy Purvis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Sadbury FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
