Alcester FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Studley AFC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Alcester FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 11th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Studley AFC a penalty, 13 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Byron Armstrong, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Alcester FC's Andre Mansell. 0-1. William Bennet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Rodd Welsh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Jonathon Askew ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rodd Welsh was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 22nd minute William Bennet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodd Welsh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodd Welsh didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 24th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. After having played for 31 minutes, William Bennet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alcester FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but William Bennet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodd Welsh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Bennet in the 34th minute of the match. Rodd Welsh made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jonathon Askew in the 40th minute. 44 minutes into the match, Studley AFC's goal looked a bit too open when William Bennet came free, but Rodd Welsh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alcester FC's William Bennet in the 49th minute got a chance for a shot 49th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Studley AFC's goalie prevented a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 65th minute, Jonathon Askew got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicholas Hassell hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. If Jonathon Askew had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 69 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Studley AFC! In the 70th minute there was a penalty for Alcester FC. Glyn Whitehead stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rodd Welsh. 3-1. William Bennet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harry Taggart charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Harry Taggart the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Alcester FC booed when Studley AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry Taggart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alcester FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Glyn Whitehead in the 81st minute. Alcester FC's Glyn Whitehead was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rodd Welsh in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 84 played minutes, Alcester FC's Graeme Thornton shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rodd Welsh came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Alcester FC reached it. William Bennet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodd Welsh having to interfere.
