Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Sadbury FC's David Wakefield started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sidney Slator showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philip Crowther, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute, Adam Flynn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eric Beesley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Sadbury FC's David Wakefield slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Todd Bradfield. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Luke Parry managed to get in a good position for a shot. Upminster City's supporters rose to their feet, but Luke Parry was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sidney Slator breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sidney Slator made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luke Parry in the 17th minute of play. Luke Parry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Sidney Slator tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Teddy Purvis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luke Parry in the 22nd minute of play forced Sadbury FC's goalkeeper Sidney Slator to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Wakefield kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. A collision led to Upminster City getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Adam Flynn hit a great ball. David Wakefield could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Todd Bradfield made a huge save. Sidney Slator took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luke Parry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, David Wakefield managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sadbury FC's supporters rose to their feet, but David Wakefield was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Todd Bradfield breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Luke Parry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 48 minutes into the game, Eric Beesley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Upminster City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sadbury FC the free kick. In the 48th minute, Eric Beesley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Upminster City's Eric Beesley got his second yellow card of the match in the 61st minute. The referee ordered Eric Beesley off the ground. Eric Beesley kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Teddy Purvis hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 81 minutes into the match, Upminster City's Reuben Chambers broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide.
