Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Alcester FC's William Bennet started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vince Armstrong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Mansell having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 8 minutes into the game, when Glyn Whitehead put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 7th minute of the game. One of Alcester FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Whiteley:s goal. In the 10th minute there was a penalty for Whiteley. Calvin Gettins stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Andre Mansell. 0-1. Vince Armstrong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute Kelvin Cutts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andre Mansell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andre Mansell stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kelvin Cutts's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Graeme Thornton, 26 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jonathon Askew received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Glenn Pilkington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andre Mansell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kelvin Cutts, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Colin Dixon struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Glenn Pilkington didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alcester FC. Kelvin Cutts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathon Askew got free with Glenn Pilkington in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 47 minutes into the match, Alcester FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vince Armstrong came free, but Andre Mansell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kelvin Cutts was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Alcester FC's Colin Dixon got a free kick in the 50th minute. Andre Mansell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kelvin Cutts in the 57th minute of the match. Jonathon Askew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Shawn Jordan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But to his dismay, Jonathon Askew quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Colin Dixon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
